Entry Level (Scuba Diver)

Introducing the PADI Scuba Diver Certification

Short on time but bursting with the desire to become a certified diver? Look no further than the PADI Scuba Diver certification. This course is designed for those who want to dip their toes into the world of scuba diving without committing to a full Open Water Diver course. It covers the initial three out of five sections of knowledge development, the first three out of five pool sessions, and the first two out of four open water training dives, resulting in a limited but valuable certification. If you’re planning to explore underwater realms with a dive guide or if your schedule is tight, the PADI Scuba Diver certification is your ideal choice.

This certification provides you with ample dive experience and serves as a great stepping stone toward the Open Water Diver course if that’s your ultimate goal. As a PADI Scuba Diver, you gain the following privileges:

  • Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, or Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 meters (40 feet).
  • Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment, and participate in other diving activities under the required supervision.
  • Continue your dive training and complete the PADI Open Water Diver certification.

The Exciting Part

The Scuba Diver certification opens up the mesmerizing underwater world to those who thought diving courses were too time-consuming or challenging.

Whenever you’re ready, you can seamlessly upgrade to the Open Water Diver certification. With less time commitment than the Open Water course, you’ll be well on your way to scuba diving independently whenever your schedule permits.

Course Duration

This 2-day course is divided into one day of pool and classroom training, followed by a second day spent in the ocean, where you’ll complete two qualifying dives.

What You’ll Learn

Throughout the course, you’ll master the fundamentals of scuba diving, including knowledge development, essential pool skills (which you’ll apply during open water dives), and an enduring appreciation for the captivating underwater world, ensuring you’ll crave more underwater adventures.

During the course, you’ll delve into topics such as:

  • Buoyancy skills, including comfortable ascents and descents and breathing underwater.
  • Streamlining your swimming skills and buddy diving techniques.
  • Insights into underwater environments and the aquatic life you’re likely to encounter.
  • Strategies for preventing common underwater problems.
  • An introduction to boat diving.

The Scuba Gear You’ll Use

You’ll have access to all the basic scuba gear (equipment rental is included in the course fee). While this gear is provided, you may opt to invest in your own mask, snorkel, and fins for a more personalized fit. Your equipment will also include a buoyancy compensating jacket, scuba regulator, weight system, and instrumentation for depth and air supply monitoring. You’ll be suited up in a scuba wetsuit for comfort.

If you plan to purchase equipment before your course, please reach out to us for suitability guidance.
